At her heart blooms an enormous ivory-white rose, but this is anything but an ordinary flower.
Every petal has been painstakingly transformed by hand.
Along the sweeping edges, individual opalescent pearls and iridescent jewels have been hand placed one by one, tracing the natural curves of the petals. Between them are delicate translucent scale-like details, individually positioned across the flower to mimic the shimmer of mermaid scales catching sunlight beneath the water.
There isn’t simply one embellished layer.
The detailing travels petal after petal, layer after layer, continuing around the rose so that the sparkle changes depending on the angle from which she’s viewed. Pearlescent white, flashes of lavender, aqua, pink and icy blue appear and disappear as the light moves across her.
And hidden among those jeweled petals are real seashells. 🐚
A delicate spiral shell rises from the center of the garden, while additional natural shell details are nestled throughout the piece like tiny treasures washed ashore.
